From San Francisco/Bay Area/Sacramento Valley: Take Interstate 80 east to the Norden/Soda Springs Exit. Follow the Donner Park Road (Old Highway 40) east to Donner Summit.
From Reno, Nevada: Take Interstate 80 west to the Norden/Soda Springs Exit. Follow the Donner Park Road (Old Highway 40) east to the Donner Summit. The road continues east to Donner Lake and Truckee but is usually not kept open east of Donner Pass in the winter.

Alpine Downhill Skiing (Rating: Best)
Affordable, relaxing and carefree come to mind when you think of Donner Ski Ranch sitting above historic Donner Pass. Short lift lines with uncrowded skiing are routine. A varied terrain offering a nice mix of runs is a bonus. Three lifts serve the frontside facing the lodge and Old Highway 40, and the backside bumping against the Boreal Mountain Resort is served by three additional lifts. Donner Lake and Martis Valley offer fine views from the ridge top.
Snowboarding (Rating: Good)
Affordable, relaxing and carefree come to mind when you think of Donner Ski Ranch sitting above historic Donner Pass. Short lift lines with uncrowded snowboard freeriding slopes are routine. A varied terrain offering a nice mix of runs is a bonus. There are no snowboarding terrain parks at Donner Ski Ranch.
