Sailor Meadows Cross-country

DESCRIPTION:

The Sailor Meadows area is considered by many to contain one of the finest stands of ancient trees in the Central Sierra Nevada. The small meadow is encircled with large Ponderosa Pines and Firs. The stand of old-growth is relatively small but if you like big 'ol trees worth the visit.

There is no official or developed trail that drops down from the Foresthill Divide to Sailor Meadows. However, an old mining trail shows on the maps and there have been enough visitors to maintain the visibility of the trail. There are no signs or designated parking. Take a good map.
