Round Lake Trail (Grouse Ridge)
DESCRIPTION:
Photogenic Island Lake is a favorite swimming hole and offers challenging Lake Trout, rainbow and Brown trout fishing. Bank fishing not as productive; anglers that pack in floatables do better. Stocked (2000) with rainbows plus Kamloops Junction strain. Further east of Island Lake, Long, Round, and Milk Lakes are readily accessed by spur trails. All three lakes have been stocked with rainbows and Kamloops Junction strain, but Long is also managed for Brook Trout. Trail is rocky in places with numerous roots making speed bumps that dissuade many mountain bikers from doing the ride more than once.

Topographic Maps: Graniteville, English Mt. From Carr Lake parking follow old road and hike east by Feeley Lake dam where the trail starts.
ACTIVITIES:
Equestrian Trail Riding (Rating: Best)
This fine trail leads to adjoinging trails and loop options (see adjoining locations).
Camping is not permitted at the Carr Lake Primitive Campground. Nor is the trailhead parking large enough for trailer parking. But there is roadside parking available on the access road.
Mountain Biking (Rating: Good)
Carr Lake>Round Lake>Glacier Lake Trails: 4 miles one-way, single track. More difficult. Map. Slow and technical for rock, but good grades, pretty lakes.Carr Lake>Round Lake>Grouse Ridge north via Shotgun Lake>Lindsey Lakes via Rock Lakes and Culbertson Lake>Lindsey Lake & Carr Lake Roads: 13 miles, 10 single track and 3 double track. Most difficult. Map. This loop combines several of the best trails within the Grouse Ridge country. It is slow and more technical for rock, pitches, and narrow trail. Given the length over rough trail it classes out as most difficult.
Option: Add a quick zip and back to Glacier Lake for a comparatively easy four miles.
