Robie Point Fuel Break Trail (FBT)

This functional fire access road through the Auburn State Recreation Area provides an almost level, easy jaunt across the brush, and scattered fire-prone slopes between the North Fork of the American River and the prime residential areas along Auburn’s back porch. Great place for morning or after-work exercise. You can link to the WST and the Robie Point Trails below the Robie Point subdivision.

DESCRIPTION:

Wide, easy trail offers nice views of river and Auburn Dam construction site, including the diversion tunnel -- now closed.

DIRECTIONS:

To Robie Point Fuel Break Trail (FBT)

Topographic map: Auburn. Note this trail is labeled "Robie Point Trail" on map. From south -- Park at Auburn Staging Area, but trail begins at paved and gated road immediately to the south of Overlook parking area. Trail forks to the left after 0.25 mile. Directions: from north -- Follow Highway 49 about 0.6 mile below Auburn to unmarked parking area on right. Trail begins at green gate.
