Manzanita Trail
Well named, this relatively easy trail often tunnels through healthy stands of manzanita. The southern slope makes this a better than average three-season option cutting across the slopes above the North Fork of the American River. Within the Auburn State Recreation Area, the trail makes a good connecting link from Stagecoach Trail, crossing Highway 49 immediately below the Park Headquarters where it connects with the Park Access Trail, that in turn drops rapidly to the WST.
Offers great loop possibility for hikers with optimal views from the upper end of the trail of Confluence and Mountain Quarry Bridge
