Haypress Creek Trail

DESCRIPTION:

Nice waterfall near the PCT bridge, nice fishing for Brooks especially in the meadow at the end of the trail where it connects to a 4WD road. Few people. Near the campground, catchable rainbows are planted throughout the summer. More people. The trail itself, although easy, is bland for the first mile. Then it follows private logging roads through harvested areas for the second mile. It isn’t until after a couple miles the trail again enters the National Forest and a beautiful old-growth red-fir stand of huge trees; as it approaches the meadow, it is worthwhile for a hike you might want to do twice.
