Weaver Lake

Heavy fishing pressure from local sportsmen's club...

DESCRIPTION:

Small dam and larger size makes this lake more popular than its little cousin and next-door neighbor, McMurray Lake.

Camping is limited to small primitive sites midway up the east side.

DIRECTIONS:

To Weaver Lake

The road intersection is signed from the primitive road along north shore of Bowman and east of the dam. Once turning up the access road, drive 1.4 miles north of Bowman Reservoir and 0.7 mile past McMurray Lake. 4-wheel drive is best, but high clearance vehicles can make it on a good day with good drivers. No trailers/RVs.

See Grouse Ridge Map.

ACTIVITIES:

Fishing (Rating: Good)

Spring usually requires snowmobile access or a little later 4 wheel drive vehicls, that's when the best fishing occurs. Summer doldrums can slow action down; so plan accordingly. Fall offers more opportunities wityh easier access. Planted rainbow catchables but has populations of native brooks and lake trout. There is often heavy fishing pressure from a local sportsmen's club, which has private facilities on the lake.

Boating - Motorized (Rating: Good)

Best opportunity is for flat water paddlers or possible electric motors on small fishing boats. Car-top launch is available with good access.
