This little lake serves more as a landmark than it does a destination or fishing spot. The lake marks the top of the Sierra Crest where the Gold Lakes OHV route climbs out of the Lakes Basin and starts dropping into Gold Valley. The Deer Lake OHV route from Packer Saddle ends here and the Snake Lake OHV Route begins. The PCT also croses here.
Native Eastern Brooks can be found in the lake, but I'd leave my pole in its case.
