Marvelous, rocky basin with only patches of trees. Black Buttes dominates the skyline to the north. Few people get to this corner of the Grouse Ridge area that is a favorite to many people.
The lake has native Eastern Brooks but CDF&G manages the lake for Lahontan Cutthroat Trout. Fingerlings were planted annually through 2000 when all stocking was placed on hold.
