Truckee

Sitting prettily astride the Truckee River, the bustling town of Truckee is the natural hub for the East Slope Area. All major roads serving the area converge here. The railroad gave Truckee a reason to grow, the forest products industry continued that growth, but recreation visitors and second-home owners have claimed it as their modern Mecca.

Hospitality is big in the little town of approximately 14,000 residents, about the right size to offer almost everything, including an occasional traffic jam.
