Sagehen Creek Campground


   

DESCRIPTION:

Primitive camping with 10 campsites and vault toilets. Developed drinking water is not provided so you must bring water or purify creek water. No garbage containers (pack-in, pack-out), but camping is free. Sagehen Creek is noted for its flyfishing (especially downstream) and has been nominated by the Tahoe National Forest for designation as a Wild and Scenic River.

DIRECTIONS:

To Sagehen Creek Campground

Follow Highway 89 north of Truckee for 9 miles, then turn left at Sagehen Summit Turnoff. Follow signs and continue over 2 miles of rough road. The campground lies upstream from a University of California field station.
