There are 10 campsites with spaces for small trailers. The site is on a high ridge swept by the huge Cottonwood Fire in 1994. Facilities and immediately surrounding trees were saved by firefighters, but now burned snags, young pines, and wildflowers galore sweep to the horizon in most directions. Deer, hunters, 4WDs, and mountain bikers have returned, too. Equestrians also enjoy the campground. Although horses are not allowed within the campground, there are sufficient open areas next to the camp to be a popular destination.
