Stampede Meadows (and Reservoir) Road:

Not only does this gentle, paved road connect two great reservoirs, the Little Truckee River lying between offers some of the best fly fishing around.

There are several camping opportunities and the open pines and meadows make this an all-around pleasant drive. Spring and fall are as peaceful as pretty.
