Squaw Valley:

Allow extra time to enjoy Squaw Valley before you enter the back-country. In addition to several excellent restaurants and watering holes, a stop at the museum honoring the 1960s Winter Olympics is very worthwhile. Check out the skating rink and some summer sports opportunities for the young at heart.

The upper basin is dramatically reached by a gondola ride up as well as back down. A glass of wine at the top is a perfect ending to a great day.
