Salmon Lake Road:

There are two Salmon Lakes. Each with its own personality, charm, and ease of access.

Lower Salmon requires a short walk down a gated 4-wheel drive trail, but the paved road ends at Upper Salmon Lake. Lower Salmon offers quite camping after a short backpack trip. Upper Salmon is a little more upper crust – but whole grain and hand made to its core. Ring up the Lodge in the 1800s mining building and resort staff will boat over to pick you up. No private vehicles allowed on the far side of the lake. Fishing is good too.
