Martis Valley and Highway 267 and Brockway Summit:

Martis Valley is a delightful expanse of open sagebrush meadow hemmed by vibrant, rich green forests.

Highway 267 slices the meadows approximately in half; Martis Creek Lake lies tucked into open foothills east of the highway. Mount Rose surrounded by its designated Wilderness towers to the east, and Martis Peak and the lookout overlook the entire valley. North Star Ski Area and resort dominate the western rim while hundreds of homes including golf courses stretch down slope to Truckee. Martis Creek National Recreation Area forms the heart of the valley.

Even more developments are planned.
