The Spenceville Wildlife Area is one of the largest areas of blue oak forest and open grasslands left in public ownership and is available for hunting, hiking, and equestrian trail riding, as well as mountain biking. Shingle Falls are picture perfect.
The Empire Mine State Historic Park not only preserves one of the highest producing gold mines in California, it also offers miles of forested trails lying within the city limits of Grass Valley.
