Confluence of North & Middle Forks of American River:

The Confluence is the joining of two great recreational rivers. It’s only minutes out of Auburn, and you can drive within a few feet of some sites while others scramble down and upriver to reach their favorite spot. The area is a favorite family destination for swimming, sunning, and tubing.

Trails fan out in every direction – heading up and down canyon or for individuals ready for an exercise romp – promptly up hill back to Auburn. And morning coffee or latte. Or an evening of cool-down time. Better yet, a rubdown.
